Hey hey,
I posted in the general symptoms thread thing a while ago saying I had anxiety about flying. I still do, but I freak out about my health a lot. I get random aches and pains everywhere, since I was 14 or so (19 now). I'm going to the hospital about it tomorrow but I'm freaking out in case it's something bad which will stop me going to university and so on. Argh!
Anyone else have this? Any advice would be welcome.

I think we all do haha. If some don't have it now, then rest assured they've dealt with it at once point in their anxiety journey. Every ache and pain is something that can set me off. Especially in the chest area. I've had it all done (and I'm 21 so, we're probably the same health wise). MRI, stress test, heart echo, 3 blood tests looking for like 10 different things, chest pains, BP, weight the whole shibang. Everything points to healthy but, I still feel off, out of it, ached and pained. The body is in constant pain, we're just really tuned in to that pain and it drives us mad.

Iamanis took my answer! I'd say that the majority of us here have that!
Every twinge is something serious: a twinge in the head is a stroke or tumour; a twinge in the abdomen is also a tumour; a pain in the leg is a blood clot; chest is heart attack, etc.
I try to tell myself that if it is something terribly serious, my body will let me know it in no uncertain terms. If it's a stroke, I'll fall down. If it's a heart attack, I'll fall down. I figure if I can keep walking and talking, it's not an emergency. So far, these horrible, fatal illnesses have all been nothing. Or gas. ;) (I find a lot of my "heart attacks" are just gas.)
I try very hard not to go from noticing a twinge to being terrified by it. If I notice something, I keep doing what I'm doing and try to ignore it and not dwell on it. I wait for it to get worse, and it usually just goes away.
What you are feeling is very normal for anxiety sufferers.
All the best!!

lol. I thought I was having another heart attack yesterday, first one in about 2 years. I was doing so good to. Frazzle is right I could still walk and talk and freak out so I was really fine. It's hard for me to accept sometimes though that I've become a hypo. But I am.

Lately I'm dealing witht he pain in the leg one personally. My calf muscles for whatever reason are sore a lot lately and muscle twitches happen a lot so of course I think it's a blood clot and all I need to hear is "hey it's not, and this is why." But so far I haven't gotten that, I'll just get told I'm being stupid. I usually can't shrug it off unless I get educated as to why it is not a clot. So, I don't know. But I've had it all.

Hey, it's not (a blood clot) and this is why: If it was, you would be in a LOT of pain, and the area would be HOT and RED. (I know because I "had a blood clot" last year, and my doctor assured me that I didn't.)
The muscle twitches could be anxiety, or likely a deficiency of one vitamin or another. Potassium, possibly? Or you could be dehydrated. Lots of different reasons other than a blood clot.
(I'm not a doctor - I just play one on the internet. :D)

:D My pleasure.
Excuse me, now, while I attend to the cancerous skin condition which is more than likely the cause of a weird itchy spot on my leg. It's been bothering me for WEEKS!

all day I've felt like something is wrong with me, even writing this I feel it. Like something is just going to pop out and be like gotcha! I get a lot of abdominal pain too east, I thought I had acid reflux there for a while but it's gone away. Weird crap.

east, sorry I'm just seeing this.
A few years ago, I had what I KNEW was a gigantic tumour in my upper left abdomen, just under the ribs. I had it for weeks and weeks. I finally got brave enough to go to the doctor - my GP referred me to a GI specialist. Turns out my tumour was GAS! Just GAS, gathering in that one spot of my intestines.
The doctor told me a few things to do in order to avoid it building up:
~ never drink from a straw; ~ don't drink with a meal - drink before or after; ~ don't chew gum; ~ take at least 20 minutes to eat each meal; ~ chew very thoroughly; ~ ummmmmmmmmmmmm.... I can't remember the others!
Truth be told, as soon as he told me it was gas, my 'tumour' went away! :D

Wish when my doctor told me i didn't have cancer of the.. well..everywhere...it made it go away!! I get pains in my chest which i always believe is a heart attack. If thats the case i've been having one on and off for over 3 months. Ive now decided the pains too high in my chest to be my heart, even though it feels like its going to jump out of my chest all the time, or too low sometimes. So now i also have lung cancer! I've noticed a difference in my toilet patterns...so i have bowel cancer. I ache quite a bit and have random bruises...so i have leukaemia and, my head hurts sometimes so i have a tumour :)
Ive had so many blood tests taken im suprised water isn't squirting out of my arms, about 4 ECG's in the last 3 months, including one from the paramedic i got my boyfriend to call out when i was convinced i was having a heart attack! Oh, my back kind of hurts too but i can't really think of something to do with that...however sometimes i think it might be meningitus.
The doctor basically told me im an idiot. Im only 18, apparently the blood tests would have shown up an abnormality if there was ANYTHING wrong, such as cancer, and my ECG's have been fine.
Being a hypo completely sucks! If i get a twinge in my thumb and mention it my family sighs "oh no it'll be thumb cancer next!" How come we know we're hypos, but still think we're ill? ANNOYING!

I am so happy I stumbled accross this site! I have so many things that I've seen here. I always think I'm going to have a heart attack, I'm going to die, etc. I just mustard up the guts to talk to my husband about it earlier today, and he tried to tell me it's okay, I'm healthy. It's SO hard to believe, especially when you have so many wierd aches and pains. I am in the health care field, and know first hand the body does wierd things! Our nerves fire (causing wierd, sharp, stinging, dull or achey pains) our muscles, believe it or not get tight! And yes, many of us woman carry our stress in our neck, shoulders and chest which give us pain in those areas. But we get lost in it. My husband told me a great montra when I had my first panic attack, "I'm okay, it's okay, this is just my anxiety." I know it sounds silly, and believe me, I wish I could live by that! But it does help when I start obsessing over things. It's just nice to see other people out there feel the same way.
I hope this helped!

This is to all the young people out there who wrote about this. I am 60 years old and have been that way since I was around 10. If you dont change your way of thinking you are headed for a life time of hell. Believe me, I have traveled and traveling down that road. I have been dying since I was 10, I am a joke to my family and no one wants anything to do with me. I am alone in this world and it is all my own fault. There is a saying that goes, "A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave one dies but one." I am a coward...I have wasted my life scared and waiting for terrible things to happen. I wish that I could have a do over and enjoy life and all it has to offer. Remember...you cant go back and change tings but you can change things now. Please...dont travel down my road, lifes too short, enjoy.
